Affiliate Networks – Best of 2017
Affiliate networks are go-betweens that provide links between a website owner (affiliate) and a business (vendor). Most affiliate networks enable businesses to offer affiliates some form of compensation.
The compensation is generally offered in terms of a percentage of the sale ranging anywhere from 3-75% depending on the network and the product.
Affiliate networks are like an online catalog of available affiliate programs. They are in categories and sometimes placed in order of popularity. However, don’t let the order of popularity fool you. This is especially important in digital products. Popularity is based on the number of people who are promoting the product. That doesn’t mean that they are actually making a lot of money. Keep in mind that the more people promoting the product also means more competition.
A lot of research should go into determining the best affiliate networks before joining one of them. I hope that my research along with my personal experience will save you some time and perhaps make you some money. Some affiliate networks are just not worth your time and effort and could cost you money rather than make you money. Therefore, I have created this list of what I consider are good affiliate networks to join in 2017.
These affiliate networks are not ranked in any particular order.
ClickBank is one of the best affiliate networks. They are the largest network of digital products. Their new, fresh, and modern look is attracting a lot of new affiliates. The products are of higher quality and are backed by their return policy that protects both the vendor and the affiliate.
Cj Affiliate by Conversant (formerly Commission Junction) is also one of my favorite affiliate networks for 2017. They offer a huge amount of affiliate programs to join. They also offer a lot of physical products from well-known manufacturers. However, getting approved to be an affiliate can be a bit more challenging than some other networks. You need to prove to them that you are a sincere affiliate marketer, and that you have at least one website. It’s actually better if you have multiple websites.
Shareasale is another top contender in affiliate programs for 2017. They have thousands of merchants to choose from. They were recently acquired by Affiliate Window which should lead to a larger global presence. I especially like their 24/7 live chat support system.
Flexoffers has had good and bad reviews among affiliate networks, but I think they still deserve a strong mention. They claim to have over 10.000 affiliate programs with some very well-known companies. All merchants must deposit $500. in escrow. In my opinion, this should definitely deter fly-by-night merchants.
So there you have it. I will be working with these affiliate networks this year. My opinion may change throughout the year, so check back from time to time.
To your success,
